The Effectiveness of Tepuk Sorak Massage in Reducing Fatigue Levels

Fatigue is a signal from the body due to a decrease in physical performance, which can trigger accidents or a decrease in one's performance in doing activities. Massage is an alternative to overcome fatigue. This research aims to find out how effective the Tepuk Sorak Massage is in decreasing fatigue levels. This research was a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research population was the patients of Yogyakarta State University's Manipulative Therapy and Rehabilitative Health and Sport Center Clinics who complained of fatigue. The Tepuk Sorak Massage was conducted once for 1 treatment with a duration of 40 minutes. Measurements were taken twice: before treatment and measurement again the next day after treatment using the Fatigue Measurement Scale (SPK) to measure fatigue levels. The research sample was for about 20 people, determined by incidental sampling technique. The data analysis technique used the paired t-test. The results of this research show that the average pretest fatigue score is 40.25 ± 1.585 and the posttest average is 16.30 + 1.081. There is a significant decrease in fatigue between before and after treatment (p < 0.05) with an effectiveness of 59.5%. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the Tepuk Sorak Massage is significant for decreasing the level of fatigue.
