Analysis of Indonesian Language Use in Students

This study aims to analyze the pattern of Indonesian use by students and factors that affect it. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with observational techniques, interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis. The results show that students use Indonesian with variations depending on the situation and the other person have a conversation. The main factor that affects the pattern of language use is family environment, social media, school environment, and social interaction. The study found that the use of Indonesian which is not in accordance with the rules has an impact on formal writing skills and the understanding of academic text.
