Abstract

The Community Service Program in Education (KKN-DIK) is one form of student engagement that integrates education, research, and community service. This study aims to describe the roles of KKN-DIK students at SMP Muhammadiyah Takkalasi, particularly in supporting learning activities, fostering student character development, and strengthening collaboration with teachers and school stakeholders. A descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of program activities. The findings reveal that KKN-DIK students contribute by (1) supporting the learning process through academic assistance, (2) enhancing students’ motivation through innovative teaching methods, and (3) reinforcing school–community collaboration. The study underscores the importance of sustaining the KKN-DIK program as a tangible form of student contribution to the development of secondary education
